Canadian Defence Lawyers  
CDL is Canada's only national association representing the interests of civil defence lawyers. With 1200 members from coast to coast, we offer unparalleled opportunities to unite the defence bar over common issues. We provide access to high-quality, defence-oriented CLE and deliver programmes Canada-wide, with selected CLE also available via audio conference and webcast. The only one of its kind in Canada, our AGM brings together defence lawyers and industry representatives from across the country. All our programmes feature presentations on hot topics as well as practical information on day-to-day issues. They are also great opportunities to network with colleagues and others in the insurance community.

CDL is also an electronic community offering members password-protected access to practice tools. Our experts directory provides lawyers with exclusive, immediate and comprehensive access to experts' information, including a unique member rating system. In addition to newsflashes, members receive Nonsuit, our electronic newsletter, sent via email, which features brief reports on developments in all regions of Canada as well as in-depth articles on topics of specific interest. We are affiliated with the Defence Research Institute, representing 20,000 defence lawyers in the United States, and have a seat on their board of directors. New members of CDL automatically qualify for a free one-year membership in DRL.

CDL is also the recipient of the DRI 2008 Janata Award for outstanding local defence organization.
